In step one we are attempting to describe the match between our offering and what the customer wants. We ask:

• What is our offering?
  

• Who are our customers? What motivates them to buy anything  from our offering?
  

• What is the match between our offering and what they really want?
  

In step two, we explore key questions of marketing and distribution. We ask:

•   Why would they choose us over our competitors?
  

•    How do they know about us?
  

•    How do they obtain our offering?
  

    

In step three, we examine the future of our match between offering and market. We ask:

• What is our Current Market?
  

• What is our Future Market?
  

• If the market changes in the future, how will our offering change?
  

In step four, we back up and examine the essence of what we’re doing. We ask:

• Given what we have learned thus far, where are we going as an organization?
